Sarah Murcek is an emerging soprano in the New York City area holding a Bachelor’s of Humanities and Arts in Music and Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. Following graduation, Sarah dedicated her time to the fields of education and early childhood intervention.
In 2014, Sarah moved to New York City to re-focus on her opera career. She made her debut in New York with Chocolate Dances LLC., a company that offers a multi-sensory and interactive performance and chocolate-tasting experience. In the summer of 2015 she traveled to Europe to sing Frasquita (Carmen) outside of Barcelona and Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) in Ischia, Italy. Sarah was recognized by a Spanish critic for her noteworthy performance as Frasquita. Sarah made her Carnegie Hall debut in February 2016 and her New York opera debut in July 2016 singing chorus in the Martina Arroyo Foundation’s production of La Boheme. Most recently, Sarah debuted with the Bronx Opera covering Anne Page in Sir John in Love.
While continuing to work on her craft, Sarah teaches and heads the music program at The Quad Preparatory School, a private school in Manhattan which specializes in education for Twice Exceptional students.
