Thomas Bailey is a Chicago-based tenor who specializes in new music. He received his B.A. in Voice Performance from Illinois State University in 2013 where he studied with John Koch, and he received his M.M. in Voice Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in 2016 where he studied with Allan Glassman. His most recent roles include Overseer Pitts in Nkeiru Okoye’s Harriet Tubman: When I Crossed that Line to Freedom, performed with South Shore Opera Company of Chicago, and the Chevalier de la Force in the Midwest Institute of Opera’s production of Dialogues des Carmélites, in Normal, Illinois. He has been a part of several world premiere operas, including Griffin Candey’s Sweets by Kate and Heidi Joosten’s Connla and the Fairy Maiden. He can also be heard on the recording of Ross Crean’s The Great God Pan, which is to be released in the summer of 2017 through Navona Records.
